Confirmation
at Trinity
Confirmation is a pastoral and educational ministry of the church
which helps the baptized child through word and sacrament to identify
more deeply with the Christian community and participate more
fully in its mission.
A brief overview of Confirmation Ministry at Trinity:
This formal program of instruction for each child will span a
period of a minimum of 25 months beginning in grade 7. Students
in the first year of the program are designated as LEVEL I students;
those in the second year of the program are designated as LEVEL
II students. This formal instructional portion of the program
will be offered periodically on Tuesday evenings between October
and May. It is divided into 8 units of study; 4 units will be
offered each year. Each unit will have 3 class sessions.
These sessions will be taught by the pastor. A regular program
of Bible study will utilize a daily devotional book for youth.
Each book will cover approximately a two month period. Discussion of this material
will take place in the Sunday Church School sessions. Throughout
the course of study, members of the class will be requested to
participate with various committees of the congregation as well
as complete special study projects associated with each of the
eight units.
Upcoming Schedule:
The
fall (2007) signals the return of the formal phase of confirmation
ministry. This year
the program resumed on Tuesday, September 18 with an orientation
